YOU HAVE QUESTIONS?  WE HAVE ANSWERS.

WHAT IS IMMERSIVE/SITE-SPECIFIC THEATRE?

Immersive theatre is theatre that surrounds you. It is different than traditional theatre in that you, the audience member, actively participate in the narrative. Often, immersive theatre uses non-traditional spaces to enhance the experience for the audience. The most well-known immersive theatrical experience now playing is Sleep No More in NYC. Other popular examples that you may have seen in Toronto include Tony & Tina’s Wedding, Brantwood, Counting Sheep, and
The Stranger.

The Curious Voyage is the most ambitious immersive theatrical experience to date, in that you, the audience member, will be immersed for a full three days, travelling to another continent as part of the experience. Nothing like this has been attempted before. How exciting!

WILL I BE PULLED ONTO STAGE OR PUT ON DISPLAY IN ANY WAY?

There may be times when the narrative will call for a member of the cast to interact with you, but you will not be asked to do anything uncomfortable or strange, or anything that will put you on display.

HOW MUCH WALKING/ACTIVITY WILL WE BE DOING EACH DAY?

You will indeed be on your feet for parts of the journey. This is an active experience.

On Day 1, you can expect to be exploring Barrie over the span of a few hours before you retire to your hotel for the night.

On Day 2, you will be shuttled to the airport, followed by the usual amount of airport walking to get to your gate. Upon arrival, after clearing customs, you will make your way to designated ground transportation that will take you straight to the Morton Hotel. Expect to arrive around 10pm and a special welcome will be planned for you at the hotel.

On Day 3, you will have the morning off to adjust to the time difference and time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the Morton Hotel. Around noon, your journey continues, and yes, you will be on your feet, immersed again in the narrative. After three hours of fascinating storytelling unfolding before you, there will be a two-hour window where you will relax and refresh until the final chapter unfolds.

WILL I HAVE TO DO ANYTHING CRAZY, LIKE SWIM IN A POND, EAT SOMETHING SLIMY, OR SCALE A MOUNTAIN?

No.

CAN I BRING MY KIDS?

We recommend the experience for those 14 and up.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM THE EXPERIENCE?

Expect to be an integral part of the narrative you experience. Expect to feel delightedly lost in a world unfolding around you. Expect to be in touch with us before your experience begins and receive further information about the world you will dive into. Expect to have one-to-one scenes with cast members and small group scenes with other participants taking place in a number of unique locations and historical sites.

ARE MY THREE NIGHTS OF HOTEL INCLUDED IN THE TICKET PRICE?

Yes. One night at the Best Western Hotel in Barrie.
And two nights at either the Morton Hotel or the Generator Hostel in London.

ARE MY AIRPORT TRANSFERS INCLUDED IN THE TICKET PRICE?

Transportation from the Barrie Hotel to Toronto’s Pearson Airport and from London’s Heathrow Airport to the Morten Hotel are included.  You are on your own getting back to Heathrow after the adventure and home from Pearson.

WHAT OTHER EXPENSES MIGHT I INCUR ON THE JOURNEY?

Meals! Go as high-end as you like, or do as we do and find those incredible local – and very reasonable – gems. (Check out this list of local suggestions). London has it all. Reminder that two breakfasts are included at the Morton Hotel.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH FLIGHT TO TAKE?

When you book your ticket, a copy of your confirmation will be sent to our travel agent partner at Vision Travel. They know exactly what flight you need to be on based on your ticket date. They will give you a call when they receive the email notification and if you wish, they will book your flights. We recommend using their service. If you prefer to book the flight on your own, that is ok too. Your email confirmation will include the flight info. We are using the Air Canada flight to London that leaves YYZ at 9:10am.

CAN I TAKE A DIFFERENT FLIGHT IF I DON’T WANT TO FLY WITH AIR CANADA?

No. We need all our participants to arrive in London at the same time.

WILL ANYTHING HAPPEN ON THE PLANE?

No. We wish we could, but that’s just not allowed. However, expect a small surprise or two during your travel time that will keep you engaged with the story.

WHAT WILL THE FLIGHT COST?

Right now, the round trip is approximately $900 CAN.

WHAT ARE THE DATES FOR THE THREE DAY VOYAGE?

Experience begins on:
Oct. 23, 25, 28, 30, Nov. 1, 4, 6 OR 8, 2018.

CAN I STAY LONGER IN LONDON?

You sure can! The experience ends on Day 3 in the late evening.
You can leave the next day, or stay as long as you like to enjoy London.

CAN I ARRIVE EARLIER IN BARRIE?

Yes you can! You can arrive as early as you like to enjoy Barrie.

CAN I EXTEND MY STAY AT THE MORTON HOTEL, THE GENERATOR HOSTEL OR
THE BEST WESTERN?

Yes! We have negotiated a special rate with all the hotels,
if you choose to extend your experience.

DO I NEED TO BRING LOCAL CURRENCY?

It’s always a good idea to have local currency on you. That being said, credit cards work just as well. We noticed that there are many places in London that operate as cashless businesses.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING ON THE TRIP?

All the usual travel items that you would take with you, plus good walking shoes. You do not need to get all dolled up for us! Stay comfortable. Once you book your ticket you will receive a special notice from us regarding specific items that may be required on your journey.

Please note that the UK is on a different electrical currency, so an adaptor is needed to charge your phone, computer, or to use other electronics.

Don’t forget your passport!

I UNDERSTAND THE EXPERIENCE CULMINATES IN A SITE-SPECIFIC VERSION OF A BELOVED MUSICAL. WHY IS THE MUSICAL BEING KEPT A SECRET?

Sorry.  No further questions.  The FAQ section of this website has been officially closed.

We appreciate your curiosity!
